A Beechcraft Model 18 airplane wowing the crowd with skilled aerobatics and thick smoke at the Star-Spangled Salute Airshow at Tinker AFB in 2017. The Twin Beech was a versatile aircraft that was manufactured in Wichita, Kansas from 1937 to 1969. I say it was versatile because it was used as a utility, cargo, passenger, and military aircraft. According to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, over 90 percent of USAAF bombardiers and navigators trained in this type of aircraft during World War II.
